Facility Expands to Meet Demand for Immediate Orthopedic Care, Over 5,000 Injuries Treated in Glenview in 2015
Glenview, IL (February 8, 2016) – The flagship location for the first of the popular OrthoAccess clinics created by IBJI has moved. Designed as an alternative to the emergency room, IBJI’s OrthoAccess clinics provide faster, more affordable care for patients who need immediate orthopedic care. IBJI was the first orthopedic specialty provider in the Chicago area to offer immediate walk-in care when it opened its Glenview clinic in 2011.
IBJI’s new Glenview OrthoAccess center is located at 2401 Ravine Way and offers a full array of services under one roof, including immediate orthopedic care, access to board-certified specialists, and rehabilitation services. IBJI’s Glenview OrthoAccess clinic was previously located across the street.
Since opening its doors in 2011, IBJI-Glenview OrthoAccess has treated more than 20,000 patients. The most common injuries treated by OrthoAccess specialists, according to Melody Winter, administrator at IBJI-Glenview, are sprains and fractures of the hand, foot, ankle and knee. “IBJI created OrthoAccess in response to what we were hearing from our patients,” explains Winter. “Our clinics offer multiple advantages over the traditional emergency room,” according to Winter, including:
- Immediate access to orthopedic specialists
- Shorter waits
- Faster treatment times
- Greater affordability – OrthoAccess visits cost up to 80% less than emergency room visits
“In addition to consumer demand, we’ve also seen huge demand from referring physicians who recognize the importance of sending their patients to an immediate care center that is staffed by physicians. They know their patients will be seen quickly by the type of specialist their injury requires,” said Winter. “OrthoAccess is the best of both worlds,” according to Winter. “Patients get immediate access to doctors whose training matches their injuries and treatment costs far less than a trip to the emergency room or an urgent care facility.” The average cost for an emergency room visit for an orthopaedic injury is $1,000. That same injury, treated at IBJI’s OrthoAccess, costs approximately $225.
IBJI’s OrthoAccess facility in Glenview is open from 9:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday through Thursday, from 9:00 until 6:00 p.m. on Fridays, and from 8:00 a.m. until noon on Saturdays. Patients seeking immediate attention for orthopedic issues may phone ahead to 847-832-6006 or walk in.
Since opening the Glenview OrthoAccess facility in 2011, IBJI has added multiple locations and seen consumer demand skyrocket. In 2015, specialists at IBJI’s OrthoAccess six clinics treated more than 12,000 patients. IBJI also offers OrthoAccess at its Bannockburn, Chicago-Logan Square, Gurnee, Libertyville and Morton Grove locations. Hours vary according to location. For detailed information, visit Orthoaccess.
