Illinois Bone & Joint Institute volunteers were out in full force from June 19 through June 22 for the Encompass Golf Tournament. The tournament brought some of the most recognized names in golf like Hale Irwin and Nick Price to North Shore Country Club in Glenview, along with local celebrities including Brian Urlacher and Toni Kukoc.
As the sponsor of the volunteer tent, IBJI welcomed more than 700 golf-loving volunteers and distributed first aid kits, golf ball markers and other giveaways. Volunteers had the chance to meet IBJI staff, ask questions, and help themselves to information about IBJI’s sport medicine expertise, diagnostic imaging, rehabilitation services, and OrthoAccess walk-in clinics for immediate orthopaedic care.
Aaron Sangha, Amy Cassman, Amy Illarde, Brittany Washburn, Padraic Donahue and Viviana Lopez were among those working the IBJI tent. “The tournament was a great opportunity to interact with community members,” said Aaron Sangha. “There was a lot of ‘IBJI love’ from former patients who were there. One volunteer told us that it’s thanks to two new IBJI knees and an IBJI hip that he can play golf again!”
