Illinois Bone & Joint Institute (IBJI) is pleased to announce that it has acquired Smart Scan MRI of Gurnee, IL. The acquisition expands IBJI’s team of imaging specialists and its range of imaging capabilities. IBJI and Smart Scan MRI technologists and receptionists have joined forces at 350 Greenleaf in Gurnee, IL, effective September 1st.
IBJI’s new imaging center in Gurnee will offer a wider combined range of imaging options, according to Aaron Sangha, communications manager for IBJI’s MRI & CT Services/Optimal Imaging. This will include the 3T High-Field Wide-Bore MRI, the highest strength MRI offered in an outpatient setting. The acquisition of this 3T MRI system will allow IBJI to perform routine musculoskeletal scans, as well as high-end neurological and abdominal imaging. Dr. Jeffrey Rosengarten will continue to provide radiologic coverage for MRI exam interpretations, arthrograms and specialty exams.
“With this acquisition, we are building upon both the existing IBJI team and the imaging capabilities that we offer to our patients,” said Sangha. “One of IBJI’s core beliefs is that it is critical to offer the latest innovations to our patients, especially in fields like imaging, where the technology changes rapidly. This acquisition ensures that we are able to offer the widest range of technologies and improve the overall patient experience,” said Sangha. New systems such as the Toshiba Vantage Titan 3T can significantly improve patient comfort by providing a greater feeling of openness and by dramatically reducing acoustic noise during an MRI exam.
