Biography
Dr. Anthony Savino is a board-certified neurologist with fellowship training in sports neurology. He specializes in the evaluation and management of concussion, post-concussion syndrome, post-traumatic headache, and maintenance of long-term brain health in athletes of all ages, along with the evaluation and treatment of all adult neurological disorders.
Dr. Savino believes it is important to create a partnership with his patients, working toward a goal of better neurological health and return to the activities they enjoy. He works closely with athletes to ensure they are properly diagnosed and have a clear and appropriate return to learn, work and play strategy.
Dr. Savino completed his residency in neurology at Boston University Medical Center, serving as chief resident during his final year of training. He obtained his medical degree from Rush Medical College in Chicago and completed his undergraduate degree at the University of Colorado at Boulder.
Dr. Savino serves as a team physician for Chicago Hounds Rugby and is a neurological consultant for the Chicago Wolves, Lake Forest College and various local high schools and youth club sports teams.
Treatment needs to be personalized to each patient, it is less about a protocol and more so a process."
