Biography
Dr. Lori Siegel is a board-certified rheumatologist who provides treatment for all autoimmune conditions, including ankylosing spondylitis, rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, systemic lupus and scleroderma. She is certified through the International Society of Clinical Densitometry and is a leader in osteoporosis treatment. She is the director of the Center of Excellence for Osteoporosis at Illinois Bone & Joint Institute.
Fascinated by science and the workings of the human body, Dr. Siegel wanted to be a physician from the time she was six years old. She chose to specialize in rheumatology because it is a field of medicine in which doctors and patients work together as a team.
Approachable and easy to confide in, Dr. Siegel stresses building a partnership with her patients, many of whom have conditions that are difficult to diagnose. She listens to her patients carefully to understand the entirety of their condition and its effects. Through this approach, even if curative treatments aren’t available, she can identify the best coping strategies for each patient.
Prior to joining IBJI, Dr. Siegel spent 15 years on the faculty at the Chicago Medical School, where she was chief of rheumatology and assistant dean of education. She currently is a professor of medicine and director of the physician assistant program at Rosalind Franklin University. She is recent Past President of the Chicago Rheumatism Society.

“Dr. Siegel is an informed, professional, and caring doctor. I recommend her frequently.”
She is simply the best! Dr. Siegel takes the time to get to know you as a person, your lifestyle, and what your goals are to help her with your medical plan of action. You feel like you are working together as a team versus a doctor telling you what to do.”
“She is simple awesome, kind, caring, and truly interested in making sure she is helping to improve your condition and in doing so improving your life.”
“Dr. Siegel carefully listens to what you have observed about your symptoms and works with you to find solutions to make your life more comfortable, as auto-immune issues are not totally curable and something you need to learn to live/work around. She is caring, compassionate, and very skilled in her field. She also helps me laugh!”
“Dr. Siegel was thorough, patient, and attentive. I was not rushed through my appointment(s), nor were prescriptions arbitrarily prescribed.”
