Biography
Dusty joined IBJI in September 2019 with a primary focus on hand and upper extremity surgery. She has been working as an orthopedic PA since 2014, where she began her career in orthopedic trauma and joint replacement surgery in her hometown of Huntsville, Alabama. She then moved to Anchorage, Alaska in 2016, where she provided broad orthopedic care across multiple subspecialties for the Alaska Native population.
Throughout her training in athletic training and physician assistant studies, she has always prioritized a team approach to patient care, not only between the healthcare providers but also including patients as active participants in their own treatment. She feels that the best practice of medicine includes empathy, compassion, communication, and mutual respect between the provider and the patient.
Outside of work, Dusty enjoys playing softball, snowboarding, biking, pickleball, camping, and traveling the world. Being an active and independent person herself, she understands the mental and physical toll an acute injury or chronic condition can take on a patient's life. Dusty's treatment goal for every patient is to help them regain their quality of life and get back to doing the activities they love.
