Biography

Hilary is a licensed and registered occupational therapist focusing on the upper extremity. She graduated with masters and doctorate degrees in OT from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Her doctoral work addressed the effect of chronic conditions like diabetes on upper extremity function and how hand therapists can best support patients with multiple health conditions. She has contributed to research in the areas of healthcare access and health navigation for the disability community as well as chronic disease self-management and mHealth apps.  Hilary plans to become a certified hand therapist and certified bilingual (Spanish/English) healthcare provider.

Prior to becoming an OT, Hilary worked in social services for 15 years with adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. When she’s not treating patients, Hilary enjoys making ceramics and fiber arts, hiking, camping, and reading.
