Biography

Melissa has been working with IBJI as a physical therapist assistant since 2011. She also worked as a PTA for five years in her hometown of Racine, Wisconsin prior to moving to Chicago. Whether working with athletes recovering from sports injuries or individuals managing chronic conditions, Melissa is committed to developing personalized care that promotes healing, restores function, and improves quality of life. 

She graduated in 2003 with an Associate of Science degree from Gateway Technical College in Kenosha, Wisconsin, where she was president of the PTA club during her schooling. She was also recognized by the American Physical Therapy Association for advanced proficiency in orthopedics in 2010. In 2024 she began instructing Phase IV Return to Sport classes, and in 2025 she was certified in applied functional science by the Gary Gray Institute. In 2019 she was certified in instrument-assisted soft tissue mobilization and BFR Therapy. 

Melissa currently resides in Chicago with her husband, daughter, and dog. She also enjoys singing with her community choir, the Park Ridge Chorale, and her church’s choir.
