Biography
Dr. Sergey Kachar is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in joint replacement. He graduated from the University of Illinois at Chicago with high honors and obtained his medical degree at Midwestern University. Dr. Kachar completed his orthopedic residency at Midwestern University in 2006 as well as an adult orthopedic reconstruction fellowship at University of Chicago.
Dr. Kachar was the team physician for the Palatine High School football team. Dr. Kachar joined Northwest Orthopedic Surgery, S.C. in 2007. His knowledge and experience in total joint replacement is unprecedented. He has a valued reputation in the community for helping patients return to their daily routine without complication after joint replacement surgery in the shortest amount of time possible. He is particularly interested in the repair, reconstruction and replacement of the hip and knee, utilizing minimally invasive techniques. Dr. Kachar is fluent in the Russian language. He is credited with several publications covering the topics of arthroscopy, diseases of the spine, and total knee arthroplasty.
Dr. Kachar is a member of the University of Chicago Surgical Society, the Chicago Association of Russian-Speaking Physicians, the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, the American Osteopathic Academy of Orthopedics, and the American Osteopathic Association.
